Chikungunya Deaths Will Be Probed

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Anbumani Ramadoss commented on 25th July that the reported deaths from Chikungunya will be investigated, even though he asserted that no-one had died from the disease.

According to Mr. Ramadoss , the fever had returned after a three-decade dormancy to affect 121 districts across seven States with the total level of expected infections reaching 974,541. And he futher commented that the largest number of cases were in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh while Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Kerala were among the States affected by the fever.
